The City of Cambridge Triathlon is a brand new event for 2014 Whether you are interested in racing or want to help create a cheering team have a read about this exciting event coming to the County this September. On September 28 it all starts with a 1500m swim in the River Cam. It’s an out and back course so very easy to navigate. From there you’ll head to transition number one on Jesus Green, grab your bike and head out of the city on traffic managed roads. It’s a one lap 38km bike ride, around the beautiful country roads of Bourn, Kingston, Comberton and Barton before heading back into the City. We are hoping the parishes along the bike course will embrace the event and there will be lots of supporters cheering on the cyclists. After returning your bike to transition you’ll start a two lap run around the city. The route is bang on 10k and takes you past Queens and then Kings College. We think this should be a fast course, and accessible too if you’ve not got much triathlon experience. We welcome teams of three to get together and compete in a relay format too. The event will be supporting Cancer Research UK and hopes to build upon the success of the Half Marathon which has raised nearly £400,000 for the charity in the past 3 years.
